Announcing a New Free Keyword Tool

I just found an exciting new free keyword research tool that was put online by WordStream.com.  You can use it on their website to find keywords for your web pages.  The tool you find there gives you approximately 1000+ phrases.

But the cool thing about this tool is that if you sign up for the free account (yes you have to give them your name and email), you can have them email you all the keywords and phrases that the tool found.  Usually 500+ words and phrases. My latest search got me 30,547 keywords.

The keywords come in a spreadsheet which means that you can easily import them into KRA Pro and do all the analysis on the list that I have talked about in my series on affiliate marketing and how to theme keywords to make a blueprint for an affiliate niche website.

What I really found useful about this keyword research tool is that it doesn’t just use the search engines to find the keywords.  As I mentioned in a previous post, one of the downfalls I see in the Google External Keyword Suggestion Tool is that it doesn’t seem to return Buyer Keywords that give you the brand names of products or model names of products.

The WordStream keyword tool uses internet service providers and browser toolbars, as well as search engines for their data… What this seems to do is return more brands and models when finding keywords from a general product based query.

In fact, when I used it to search for “fly fishing reels” related keywords, approximately two thirds of the phrases it returned were for brands and models.  You’ve got to love that when it’s those phrases you’re looking for to build your affiliate niche website.

The one big disadvantage is that you don’t get all the count, competition, and PPC info that you get through some of the paid services. But, when you weigh that against the buyer keywords that you get exposed to, well…

All in all, I think I found another great tool for my keyword research arsenal… I recommend that you check this free keyword research tool out at: WordStream Keyword Tool.
